Yogyashree

The Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched the Yogyashree Scheme, a notable West Bengal government initiative, during the fiscal year 2021–2022. The plan was dubbed the "Yogyashree" by the Honorable Chief Minister. Under one scheme roof, this program offers two distinct coachings i.e. Pre-examination training of SC/ST candidates for JEE/WBJEE/NEET & Pre- examination Training of SC/ST candidates for entry into Govt/PSU Services (Group- B/C/D). For the students from Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) communities, this is a free coaching programme designed to increase their job and further education opportunities so they can pursue higher education in the state in professions like engineering and medical. Through this program, students from these groups receive free preparation for a variety of competitive exams, such as JEE, WBJEE, NEET, and Govt. and PSU services competitive exam.

The Scheme’s intention

To enhance the educational attainment of less fortunate individuals and establish social equality. Students from these communities also have the possibility to increase their post-secondary educational and employment opportunities. Furthermore, the socioeconomic status of these communities is determined by education.

Specifics of the Project

Under the programme, students receive lessons in an assortment of subjects from experts who specialize in those fields, like mathematics, aptitude, mental ability, aptitude tests, English, general knowledge, current affairs, and physical training for SC/ST candidates getting ready for entrance into government/PSU services (Groups B, C, and D). The chosen candidates were also given professional resources to help them crack the JEE/WBJEE and NEET exams.

Stipend: Only stipendiary pre-examination training is provided to SC/ST applicants for JEE, WBJEE, and NEET. The monthly amount of the stipend is Rs. 300. The beneficiary's account received this sum directly.

Assistance: Books, notes, and other resources that students need for their study are given to them.

Motivational Counselling: In order to help students determine their future objectives, motivational counselling is offered.

Eligibility:

(i) Both training programmes require students to be permanent residents of West Bengal and to fall under the SC/ST category.

(ii) Must have valid caste certificate for both training programmes.

(iii) Annual family income should be within 3 lakh for both the training programmes.

(iv) For pre-examination training for JEE/WBJEE/NEET, SC and ST candidates must receive 60% and 50% of the possible points in Madhyamik, respectively.

(v) Applications for SC/ST applicants' pre-examination training for JEE/WBJEE/NEET are only accepted from students with a science background.

(vi) Eligibility criteria of Pre Examination Training for entry into Govt. and PSU services for Group B: Must be Graduate; Group C: HS or Equivalent and Group D: 8th Standard.
